Easter Egg Bath Bomb
Time: 15 minutes active; 3 hours inactive | Difficulty: Moderate
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. baking soda
- 4 oz. epsom salt
- 4 oz. cornstarch
- 4 oz. citric acid
- 3 tsp. water
- 1/2 tsp. of your favorite essential oil (we used lavender!)
- 2-5 drops food coloring of your choice
- plastic Easter eggs or silicone/plastic mold
- confetti sprinkles
Instructions:
-
In a large bowl, combine the Epsom salt, cornstarch, baking soda and citric acid.
-
Whisk dry ingredients together.
-
In a small bowl, mix the wet ingredients: water, essential oil and food coloring.
-
Combine wet and dry ingredients and whisk together.
-
The mixture will begin to clump. Ball it up in your hand to get it to stick. Only add a tiny bit of water if you have to! (Too much will make the mixture start to foam and it will not stay in the molds.)
-
Take a plastic egg and coat the inside with coconut oil. Add confetti sprinkles in one side.
-
Pack the mixture tightly into both sides of the egg. Make sure there are not air pockets or the egg shape will crumble upon removal.
- Close the egg and let it sit covered by a towel for 15 minutes.
-
Carefully pry open the egg to check if it is shaping to the mold. Let them dry completely before use.
These look lovely packaged up as an Easter gift!
